Charlotte AI should be approved like any other high-trust security capability: by mapping what data it can access, who can use it, how actions are logged, and what leaves your environment. The goal is simple. Give analysts natural-language access to Falcon data without creating a new path for overexposure, misuse, or retention risk.

If you’re evaluating CrowdStrike for enterprise use, the legal/security review should focus on four questions:

  1. What data can Charlotte AI read?
  2. Who can query it or trigger actions?
  3. What prompts, responses, and audit events are logged—and for how long?
  4. What contractual and technical controls keep that data governed?

Start with the operating model

Charlotte AI is part of the Falcon platform, which is built to unify endpoint, identity, cloud, SaaS, data, and SOC workflows. 4) Data use, model training, and human review

Legal will want a direct answer to this:

  • Does customer data or prompt content train CrowdStrike models?
  • Are prompts or outputs reviewed by humans for service improvement?
  • If yes, under what conditions?
  • Is there an opt-out?
  • Are subcontractors involved in any review or processing?
  • Are there contractual commitments limiting secondary use?

Required contract language to look for:

  • No training on customer content without permission
  • No secondary use outside service delivery
  • Defined subprocessors and processing locations
  • Clear retention and deletion terms

If the vendor uses customer data to improve the product, that is not automatically disqualifying—but it must be explicit, contractually bounded, and approved by privacy/legal.

5) Sensitive data handling and redaction

Prompting a security copilot with live incident data can expose secrets fast. Review whether Charlotte AI supports redaction or controlled disclosure.

Ask about:

  • Masking of secrets, tokens, credentials, and passwords
  • Prevention of accidental exposure of highly sensitive incident notes
  • Whether outputs can exclude or generalize sensitive identifiers
  • Whether there are built-in guardrails for regulated data
